Light of Hope was first established in September 2005 in association with Christian Centre, Downtown, East London,  in the Eastern Cape,  South Africa. The organisation works with disadvantaged communities in East London aiming to transform the lives of people who are infected or affected by HIV and AIDS. 

 The goal of Light of Hope is

 

“Effective community development through self-help"

 

There is  a strong emphasis on empowering  individuals to help themselves,   and  facilitating  the involvement of the local community  in the development and ‘day to day’  running of the various activities provided………… 

Home based care / Food Parcels / Soup Kitchen /  Counselling & guidance / Support group [‘Angels of Faith’]          Patient escort to clinics and hospitals / Care for orphans / Care for rape victims / Child Educare /  Income generating skills development
