Unomhlobo Kuthi
[meaning 'We are friends with you']
Provides home based care, health promotion and health counselling and guidance for the local community. A patient support group [Angels of Faith], soup kitchen, clothing distribution and skills development activities are also facilitated.

A team of 5 female volunteers currently visits approximately 70 patients and their families regularly in Duncan Village, many of whom do not receive a social grant. (Care provided includes practical health care and advice, as well as spiritual guidance and prayer support). This service has been expanded to include a further 33 living in the community settlement on the local rubbish tip [Second Creek].
When required, the carers also respond to crises within the community, such as major fires, particularly when their patients become homeless, losing all their possessions and needing food and clothing to sustain them whilst they recover and rebuild their homes. CRISIS RELIEF
LOH would like to expand the provision of holistic care for those infected with or affected by HIV and other associated diseases such as TB within these disadvantaged communities. The number of patients visited is currently limited by the number of carers we can fund. We are aiming to increase the number of carers to 10 once finances are available.
